Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking a facilities maintenance leader to develop and run a preventative maintenance programme for the club site, including the building and grounds. You will manage maintenance requests, ensure safety compliance, and keep rigorous records while leading the club Maintenance Engineer and coordinating with the General Manager and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Create and operate a preventative maintenance programme for the site, including building shell and grounds.
• Deal with maintenance queries efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Monitor fixtures and fittings to maintain high order and tidiness.
• Follow daily and weekly checks and keep accurate records.
• Directly manage the club Maintenance Engineer and organise rotations.
• Manage monthly maintenance budgets with GM and Operations Manager.
• Act as point of contact for external technicians and companies.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts with responsibility and accountability for staffing and facilities during shifts.
• Hold a City & Guilds Level 2 or higher qualification and 5 years' relevant sector experience.

Job description

In this role, you will play a part in being responsible for creating and operating a viable and effective preventative maintenance programme for the whole site, including the building shell and surrounding grounds.,

• Ensuring that all maintenance problems and queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Guaranteeing that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and securely, and in line with company policies and procedures and current health and safety legislation.
• Monitoring the basic fixtures and fittings of the building are maintained to the highest standards of order and tidiness at all times.
• Adhering to daily & weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site, keeping up to date & accurate records.
• Directly manages the club Maintenance Engineer and organises work rotations and individual assignments.
• Managing the monthly budget for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the Club in collaboration with the General Manager and Operation Manager.
• Acts as point of contact for all external technicians and companies.
• Fulfilling Duty Shifts when required, therefore having responsibility and accountability during the shift, controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.
  A technical Level 2 qualification of City & Guilds equivalent or higher and 5 years' experience within a relevant sector.
