Job summary

Virgin Active in London is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join the Maintenance Team. The role focuses on creating and operating a viable preventive maintenance programme for the whole site, including the building shell and surrounding grounds.

You will lead the club Maintenance Engineer, manage daily checks, and coordinate with external technicians. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a salary range reflected in the pay range and perks such as pension and free membership.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining buildings and facilities.
• 5 years’ experience in a relevant sector required.
• Technical Level 2 qualification or higher in City & Guilds (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Create and operate a preventive maintenance programme for the whole site.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Monitor fixtures and fittings to high standards of order and tidiness.
• Record daily and weekly checks and maintain accurate records.
• Directly manage the club Maintenance Engineer and organise work rotations.
• Manage monthly budget for maintenance with GM and Operations Manager.
• Act as point of contact for external technicians and companies.
• Fulfil Duty Shifts with responsibility across the club.

In this role, you will play a part in being responsible for creating and operating a viable and effective preventative maintenance programme for the whole site, including the building shell and surrounding grounds.

The Role

• Ensuring that all maintenance problems and queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Guaranteeing that all maintenance activities are carried out safely and securely, and in line with company policies and procedures and current health and safety legislation.
• Monitoring the basic fixtures and fittings of the building are maintained to the highest standards of order and tidiness at all times.
• Adhering to daily & weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site, keeping up to date & accurate records.
• Directly manages the club Maintenance Engineer and organises work rotations and individual assignments.
• Managing the monthly budget for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the Club in collaboration with the General Manager and Operation Manager.
• Acts as point of contact for all external technicians and companies.
• Fulfilling Duty Shifts when required, therefore having responsibility and accountability during the shift, controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.

Who We’re Looking For

• A technical Level 2 qualification of City & Guilds equivalent or higher and 5 years’ experience within a relevant sector.
