As our Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of the day-to-day site maintenance. Working in partnership with the production team, the Maintenance Manager will ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and to the required standard, whilst providing people management support to the Maintenance and Engineering Supervisors.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Provide direction and support to the Engineering team supervisors to enable achievement of objectives.
  • Build strong relationships across the Engineering team and wider business, including external parties and head office functions.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in providing people management support in the day to day running of the Engineering teams, including consideration of headcount, application of work, absence management, and employee relations activity.
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager, providing clear communication and leadership when they are absent from site.
  • Manage the delivery of day to day planned and reactive workload.
  • Ensure all work carried out by Knauf personnel or contractors is done so to the required standards of safety.
  • Ensure stores systems are maintained to the highest standards and that critical parts are available.
  • Accountable for KPIs for safety, utilisation, budget and equipment availability.
  • Plan and supervise outages (OCOs).
  • Support engineering project work and assist with new installations or refurbishments.
  • Have an active involvement in RCA of equipment and the subsequent improvements.
  • Provide engineering expertise to the production teams.

If you have any of the following – this would be an added advantage:

  • Previous people management experience
  • A strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience of maintenance activities
  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience in the application of Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
  • Demonstrable achievements in Continuous Improvement, Change Management disciplines, tools and techniques and evident motivation to impart these to others.
  • Proactive mind-set and good planning skills.
  • Independent, organized, proactive;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team, work within deadlines
  • Assertiveness and self-confidence in presenting and supporting conclusions, having communication and interpersonal skills
