Main purpose and scope of the role:

· The Maintenance Assistant will provide support in all maintenance programs. They will ensure that all maintenance objectives are conducted in a respectful and responsible way, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

· The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the maintenance and safe operation of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other facility-related systems.

Other responsibilities of the role:

· Support and assist with emergency and planned maintenance repairs and coordinate repairs to buildings and property infrastructure.

· Assist in the regular maintenance of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems as directed.

· Assist with landscaping and grounds maintenance.

· Assist with the safe operation of boilers, heating, and ventilation systems.

· Assist with maintenance and repairs of finishing, ceilings, flooring, and roofing.

· Assist with maintenance and repairs to appliances and plant equipment.

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal codes and regulations.

· Help identify areas of improvement and suggest solutions with cost analysis.

· Report malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.

· Review work orders to ensure proper documentation.
