Overview
Engineering / Maintenance Manager - Liquid Processing (Aseptic Operations) – Rugby – £65,000 plus excellent benefits
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities across liquid processing and aseptic systems, including UHT, sterilizers, sterile tanks, and cleanroom interfaces.
- Ensure all aseptic equipment operates within validated parameters, adhering to regulatory and microbiological safety standards.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for aseptic system failures or process deviations.
- Lead capital projects involving aseptic upgrades, installations, or expansions, from design through to commissioning.
- Take ownership of engineering budgets, including CAPEX/OPEX planning and control.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, QA, production, and supply chain to optimize plant performance and throughput.
- Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for aseptic systems to ensure maximum reliability and uptime.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, SOPs, and compliance records in line with GMP and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Engineering qualifications - Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, or related discipline).
- Proven leadership experience in a food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or biotech processing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of aseptic processing systems, sterilization techniques, and cleanroom operations.
- Strong track record in budget control, capital project delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, HACCP, ISO 13485).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
