Job description

Our client, based in Teesside, has an opening for a Maintenance Manager to cover 2 sites within Teesside.

Hours of work would be Monday to Friday, 08.00am - 4.00pm.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for day-to-day oversight of maintenance staff, planning and executing all maintenance activities associated with the safe and efficient running of the sites.
  2. Responsible for preparing a rolling weekly and monthly lookahead for planned/unplanned works.
  3. Lead a team of maintenance technicians across multiple sites.
  4. Ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all equipment and facilities.
  5. Responsible for scheduling work, supervising technicians and ensuring methods are appropriate and risks assessed and suitably controlled.
  6. Ensuring compliance with all legislative, industry and site regulations.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and company policy/procedures/work instructions.
  8. Prepare and execute an effective preventive and corrective maintenance programme fully utilising the CMMS.
  9. Ensure condition monitoring programmes are executed and reported to support equipment replacement plans and optimise maintenance frequency periods.
  10. Develop and manage a preventive maintenance schedule to minimise downtime.
  11. Ensure adequate internal and external resourcing to deliver maintenance activities.
  12. Ensure timeliness of permit requests and outage requests submitted to the operations/planning team.
  13. Minimise the backlog of unplanned and planned works and ensuring any overdue tasks are risk assessed with appropriate controls implemented to reduce risk to tolerable or ALARP.
  14. Develop a highly multi-skilled and motivated team through mentoring and training.
  15. Ensure appropriate procurement and management of spares, consumables and critical spares.
  16. Act as Contract Owner for local maintenance contracts.
  17. Monthly reporting on Maintenance and Integrity KPIs and reporting on M&R Opex Actuals/Forecast for the region.

Requirements:
  1. Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  2. Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
  3. NEBOSH qualification in health and safety or equivalent.
  4. Experience leading Engineering / Maintenance teams on Oil/Chemical Terminals or COMAH sites.
  5. Multi-disciplinary maintenance management including electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  6. Effective analysis and utilisation of data to identify trends and inform decision making.
  7. Management of CMMS.
  8. Budgeting/budget management.
  9. Working knowledge of COMAH, Confined Space Regs, LOLER, WAH, COSHH, CDM, DSEAR/ATEX, PUWER, PED and PSSR.
