Job summary

The Cinnamon Care Collection is seeking a hands-on Maintenance role at Rivermede Court in Egham, Surrey. The position is full-time at £38,000 per year, with company benefits. You will maintain the home and grounds, with responsibility for basic trades and safety compliance in a 80-bed residential care setting.

Key duties include PAT testing, water temperature checks, fire prevention, and general repairs. A full UK driving licence and ability to work outside regular hours are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role with experience in minor electrical, plumbing, joinery and central heating systems.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH.
• Full and clean driving licence.
• Experience with PAT Testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of maintenance throughout the home and grounds.
• Organise and undertake general maintenance (basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, groundwork, building work, replace light bulbs, clean gutters, etc.).
• Carry out PAT Testing of all electrical items in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Test and record water temperatures and temperature control systems on showers and similar items.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and working practices.
• Implement fire prevention checks and conduct regular plant checks and document them.
• Report any accidents immediately and complete appropriate documentation.
• Provide out-of-hours cover, offering phone advice and attending the home as required.
• Read all company policies and procedures, keep up to date with company regulations and adhere to them.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves working within a team committed to providing professional, respectful, and quality care within a safe and homely environment. Good communication skills (written and verbal) and basic computer literacy are desired. Hands‑on role with experience in minor electrical, plumbing, joinery and central heating systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of maintenance throughout the home and grounds.
• Organise and undertake general maintenance (basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, groundwork, building work, replace light bulbs, clean gutters, etc.) – list not exhaustive.
• Carry out PAT Testing of all electrical items in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Test and record water temperatures and temperature control systems on showers and similar items.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and working practices.
• Implement fire prevention checks and conduct regular plant checks and document them.
• Report any accidents immediately to the Manager on duty and complete appropriate documentation.
