About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to join a leading energy production site in Surrey. This role is key in ensuring the long-term operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of a complex industrial power generation facility. The successful candidate will be hands-on, technically capable, and confident in managing teams, contractors, and safety compliance across a high-hazard, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the identification and implementation of plant upgrades and operational improvements
Execute planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with technical expertise
Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities to support future planning
Support and contribute to the site’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) strategy
Mentor and develop junior team members and apprentices
Manage contractor performance, schedules, and contracts to ensure high-quality work
Ensure plant documentation, including drawings and records, remains current
Assist in overseeing stock levels of critical spares and consumables to maintain plant resilience
Qualifications and Experience
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering, ideally with a specialism in Controls & Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical
Proven experience in high-hazard or COMAH site maintenance environments
Experience in contract and contractor management, with the ability to ensure quality and compliance
Demonstrable ability to challenge processes and identify operational efficiencies
Knowledge of safe systems of work, with Senior Authorised Person (HV) status preferred
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive change across engineering operations
