Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the team at our Coleraine site, located on the banks of the River Bann, with four plants within its grounds. Kerry Coleraine has a long history of producing high-quality dairy products since the 1940s. Today, the site supplies a range of cheese slices to the food service industry and major UK and Ireland supermarkets. In addition, there is a children's yogurt plant and a newly commissioned appetizer plant, reflecting Kerry's ongoing innovation and development.

This key position provides leadership and direction to the engineering maintenance department. The core focus of this role is to ensure that equipment and facilities maintenance are completed to high standards, maximizing machine availability and ensuring compliance standards are met at all times.

What will I be doing?

  • Managing and delivering the weekly maintenance work schedule and handling urgent work as needed.
  • Delivering the site maintenance asset care program, ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency, measured using standard KAMS KPIs.
  • Applying technical skills to resolve equipment issues causing production downtime and performing necessary maintenance.
  • Developing plans and timelines to eliminate emergency repairs and maximize planned and project work.
  • Building effective teams, promoting high performance, and nurturing internal talent.
  • Overseeing spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime with optimal stock levels.
  • Managing the maintenance department budget to ensure effective expenditure and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Maintaining an updated maintenance library, including plant drawings, manuals, software backups, and compliance files.

What do I need to bring to the role?

Essential:

  • Electrical or mechanical trade qualification, diploma, or degree.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proven ability to build solid working relationships.
  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices and CMMS systems.
  • Strong computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency in interpreting CAD drawings for electrical, mechanical, and facilities applications.
  • Fluent in English and the relevant local language.

Desirable:

  • Food industry knowledge.
  • CAD and programming skills.
