Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a hands-on Site Manager for a fast-paced automated distribution facility in Preston. You will lead a team of 13+ including supervisors, manage budgets, drive safety and continuous improvement, and maintain strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have operational experience in automated distribution or manufacturing, Lean/6 Sigma expertise, CMMS exposure, and NEBOSH qualification, with robust communication skills and a proactive leadership style.

Qualifications

• HNC/D NVQ Level 5 or higher engineering qualification.
• Operational experience in automated distribution or manufacturing.
• Strong leadership with team management experience.
• Lean / 6 Sigma experience.
• Technical skills for software systems and electro‑mechanical installations.
• Customer‑focused with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with CMMS.
• NEBOSH qualification.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with current H&S standards.
• Oversee site with 13+ employees and manage supervisors/team leaders.
• Manage customer satisfaction and enhance company reputation.
• Plan and control site budgets and commercial activities.
• Match tasks to team skill-sets to meet defined SLAs.
• Lead on-site system improvements and installations.
• Lead customer management and escalation processes.
• Oversee training requirements, technical and regulatory.
• Direct site team across a range of skills from apprentices to supervisors.
• Coordinate long-term absence with Occupational Health and HR partners.
• Produce reports and data analysis; support wider HR initiatives.
• Prepare KPI-based monthly reviews for key stakeholders.

Position: Site Manager

Location: Preston

Salary: £66,000

TXM Recruit is partnering with a prominent automation and intralogistics company to hire an experienced Site Manager to oversee a fast‑paced automated distribution facility in Preston. This role will involve maintaining relations with clients, management of supervisors/team leaders, budget management and much more.

The Ideal candidate will have experience working within the automated intralogistics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Key Promote a strong safety culture and compliance to current H&S standards
• Overall management of site with over 13 employees
• Provide complete customer satisfaction whilst enhancing the reputation of the Company
• Strategically plan and manage site budgets and associated commercial activities
• Match tasks with team skill‑sets to ensure delivery of defined SLA
• Manage, as the on‑site representative, all system improvements and installations
• Take a leading role relating to customer management and escalation management
• Manage all training requirements, both technical and regulatory
• Lead the site team and manage a diversity of skillsets from apprentices through to site supervisors
• Lead the management of long‑term absence, utilising our Occupational Health partnership when needed, also working closely with the HR Coordinator to manage and reduce short‑term absence
• Produce reports and data analysis as required
• Time for project work and improving ways of working is essential, so you need to effectively manage the day to day and have capacity to step up to support wider HR initiatives both in the UK and globally
• Able to effectively present a KPI based monthly review to key stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• HNC/D NVQ Level 5 and/or relevant higher engineering qualification
• Operational experience within an automated distribution or manufacturing facility
• High profile leader, with experience of managing teams
• Strong experience of Lean / 6 Sigma
• Technical skills to cover software systems, with a good appreciation of electro‑mechanical installations
• Customer focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with CMMS
• NEBOSH qualification
