Job summary

Wentworth James Group in Derby is seeking a Maintenance Joiner to join our Building Services Team. You will perform interior and exterior maintenance joinery and small works to a high standard, following drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.

The role requires a recognised carpentry apprenticeship (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) and a valid construction skills card, along with a full driving licence. COSHH knowledge is advantageous and a proactive approach to safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation.
• COSHH knowledge advantageous.
• Construction skills card holder.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to the trade, without supervision.
• Set out new work using relevant tools and materials without supervision.
• Experience in the machining of timber and fabrication of new joinery.
• Carry out repairs to ironmongery, blinds, door furniture and glazing.
• Key cutting.
• Cut and construct metal framing systems.
• Prepared to work at high levels on scaffolding.
• Be able to work on small work schemes without supervision.
• Ad-hoc on call for emergency work.
