Job summary

Brackenberry, in partnership with a Local Authority, is seeking a Maintenance Joiner for a 3-month contract in Loughborough, United Kingdom. The role covers joinery repairs, replacements and maintenance in social housing environments.

The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery, a valid Health and Safety qualification, a clean driving licence and substantial carpentry experience. Availability to start promptly is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery or equivalent.
• Appropriate Health and Safety qualification.
• Full current clean driving licence.
• Time-served apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery with substantial experience.
• Experience in social housing or similar property maintenance environments.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Social Housing.
• Experience ordering, collecting and receiving materials.

Responsibilities

• Carry out joinery repair, replacement and upgrade works in council properties and buildings.
• Undertake remedial works and work across other trades when required.
• Inspect items of disrepair and decide repair or replacement.
• Identify and advise on remedial action and specify suitable products.
• Complete work to a high standard within appropriate timescales.
• Work across trades during periods of increased demand or shortages of trade skills.

Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Charnwood to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Joiner, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay: £19.00 - £25.17 per hour

Summary:

The Maintenance Joiner will involve carrying out a wide range of joinery repairs, replacements and associated maintenance works in a multi-skilled environment, ensuring all work is completed to a competent recognised standard and in accordance with relevant health and safety, building regulations and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out all types of joinery repair, replacement and upgrade works associated with council properties and buildings.
• Undertake associated remedial works and work across other trades when required.
• Inspect items of disrepair, assess whether repair or replacement is appropriate and carry out remedial works accordingly.
• Identify and advise on appropriate remedial action and specify suitable products to achieve the best possible outcome.
• Complete all work to a high standard of quality and within appropriate timescales.
• Work across trades during periods of increased demand or where there are shortages of particular trade skills.

Qualification:

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery, or an equivalent qualification.
• Appropriate Health and Safety qualification.
• Full current clean driving licence
• Time-served apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery with substantial experience following completion of the apprenticeship.
• Experience carrying out a wide range of joinery work within social housing or similar property maintenance environments.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Social Housing.
• Experience ordering, collecting and receiving materials.
