Govanhill Housing Association in Glasgow is seeking a Maintenance Inspector to join our Maintenance Team. You will inspect properties, diagnose repair needs, and manage contractor performance to deliver high-quality reactive repairs and planned maintenance.
Strong communication with tenants, residents and contractors is essential, along with knowledge of health and safety and housing legislation to maintain service excellence.
Govanhill Housing Association provides a comprehensive range of services focused on the needs of tenants and owner occupiers in the Govanhill and Merrylee communities. We carry out acquisition and improvement of tenemental stock as well as delivering a new build programme. We work closely with our subsidiary company, Govanhill Community Development Trust, whose community development and regeneration services complement our own role as a social landlord.
Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Inspector to join our Maintenance Team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality reactive repairs, void property works, planned maintenance and cyclical programmes across our housing stock.
The role involves inspecting properties, diagnosing repair requirements, specifying works, managing contractor performance, monitoring service quality, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety and housing legislation.
You must have strong communication skills, a proven track record in working with tenants, residents and contractors and a commitment to delivering excellence in customer care.
A relevant technical qualification in building construction, surveying, property maintenance or a related discipline is desirable. Applicants should demonstrate practical experience of property inspection, repair diagnosis and contractor management within a housing, property or construction environment.
