Job description

Maintenance Fitter - Night Shift - Toome

Our client is an industry leader in waste management, recycling, and environmental solutions.

We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to work night shifts, carrying out preventative maintenance on plant, recycling, and processing equipment.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Salary: Night shift allowance included, in the £42-43k range

The Role
  • Promote and uphold a "Safety First" culture across the site
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as company policies and regulations
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, plant, and equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly
  • Carry out installation of machinery, plant, and equipment as needed
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare and implement a planned maintenance schedule
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requirements efficiently to minimise downtime and costs
  • Immediately report issues or defects with machinery and take appropriate action
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and actively contribute to team meetings
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, report on KPIs, and analyse variances to drive continuous improvement
  • Assist with operator training for machinery and equipment when required
What we are looking for
  • Apprentice qualified in a relevant trades such as Mechanical, Engineering, or Fitting
  • Industrial experience as a Maintenance Fitter/Engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on machinery
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and compliance within industrial settings
