Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Fitter

Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland, is recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter. This role involves carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday days, with over 40 hours paid at a premium rate, offering a great opportunity for those looking to avoid shift work.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Responsibilities
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities
  2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime
  3. Fault find to resolve issues and determine root causes
  4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to schedules
  5. Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance
  6. Record maintenance activities using software
  7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S
  8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing/production
  • Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
