About Our Opportunity

The ideal candidate will have experience as a plant fitter, with good knowledge of fixed or mobile plant machinery. Ideally, you will be apprentice trained in construction or agricultural plant maintenance or be a time-served mechanical fitter. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

Working hours are Friday to Sunday, 6am to 6pm, 36 hours per week.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintain and repair equipment including hydraulic systems, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and treatment machinery
  • Perform routine inspections, servicing, calibrations, and part replacements
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults efficiently
  • Record maintenance activities and document equipment issues
  • Respond to urgent breakdowns, including weekend callouts
  • Interpret project plans and coordinate installations with on-site teams
  • Carry out MIG, TIG, and other welding tasks as needed
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship while following safety standards
  • Maintain a continuous improvement approach to all aspects of work

About You

  • Recognised apprenticeship, preferably at a higher level
  • Experience working with, repairing, and servicing heavy plant and machinery
  • Ability to work independently, managing your time and workload effectively
  • Full UK Driving Licence
