Job Description: Maintenance Fitter

Our client is a leading manufacturer of products supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland. We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production. This is a Monday to Friday dayshift position, offering a great opportunity for someone looking to move away from shifts. Overtime hours are paid at a premium rate.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities.
  2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on machinery to minimize downtime.
  3. Fault find to resolve issues and identify root causes.
  4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to maintenance schedules.
  5. Ensure compliance with company HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance work.
  6. Record maintenance activities using maintenance software.
  7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S.
  8. Work effectively with colleagues across all areas of the business.
Requirements:
  1. Level 3 qualified apprenticeship in Engineering or a similar field.
  2. Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  3. Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting.
  4. Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors.
  5. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
