Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Fitter

Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland, is recruiting a Maintenance Fitter. This role involves carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday days. Over 40 hours are paid at a premium rate. This position offers a great opportunity for someone looking to avoid shift work.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or similar.
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities.
  2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime.
  3. Fault finding to resolve issues and identify root causes.
  4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to maintenance schedules.
  5. Ensure compliance with company HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance work.
  6. Record maintenance activities using maintenance software.
  7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S.
  8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all areas of the business.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
