Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Derby. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to work Monday to Friday, avoiding shift work while ensuring efficient production through preventative maintenance and repairs. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical repairs, fault finding, and contributing to maintenance schedules. If you have a Level 3 Engineering qualification and a passion for maintaining production equipment, this is the role for you!

Job Title: Maintenance Fitter

Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland. We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday days, offering a great opportunity for those seeking to avoid shift work. Overtime beyond 40 hours is paid at a premium rate.

Candidate Requirements
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or similar
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Responsibilities
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities
  2. Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime
  3. Fault finding and root cause analysis
  4. Execute planned maintenance and contribute to maintenance schedules
  5. Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance
  6. Record maintenance activities using software
  7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S
  8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all areas of the business
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong mechanical skills, including welding and fitting
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
