Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Fitter

Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland. We are recruiting a Maintenance Fitter to carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday days. Over 40 hours are paid at a premium rate. This role offers a great opportunity for someone looking to move away from shift work.

Candidate Requirements
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or similar
  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Responsibilities
  1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities
  2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime
  3. Diagnose faults, resolve issues, and identify root causes
  4. Execute planned maintenance and contribute to maintenance schedules
  5. Comply with company HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance work
  6. Record maintenance activities using maintenance software
  7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S
  8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all areas of the business
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing/production settings
  • Strong mechanical skills including welding and fitting
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and motors
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
