Job Description

The Maintenance/Facility Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and functionality of the food processing facility. This position is responsible for upholding Food Safety and Quality Protocols, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and maintaining both the physical facility and the technical machinery used in processing. This is a Contract to Hire position.

Compensation: $23.50/hr, DOE

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 7 am - 3:30 pm, OT as needed

Location: Kent, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold all Food Safety/Quality Protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Perform technical and mechanical work on the physical aspects of the building, grounds, amenities, common areas, and exterior property.
  • Attend to maintenance work orders in a timely manner, ensuring equipment and facility issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on production and processing equipment.
  • Complete all documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly to ensure maintenance service requests are properly documented and tracked.
  • Maintain company equipment by completing minor repairs to machinery such as pallet jacks, forklifts, metal detectors, product processing equipment, product sealing equipment, sauce hoppers, and other facility tools.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in facilities and machinery maintenance, preferably in a food-grade or regulated production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Technical knowledge of food processing machinery and equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Food Safety/Quality Standards and GMP in a food production setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  • Being comfortable working in a food production environment.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and requires a pre-employment drug screen, including THC testing.
  • Be able to pass a standard background check.
