With a focus on continuous improvement and investment in their people, they are building a world-class engineering team and are now looking for a driven professional to lead their Maintenance Excellence and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.

Job Overview

As the Maintenance Excellence & CI Lead, you will play a critical role in driving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and leading a TPM-based maintenance culture. Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager, you will implement effective engineering processes, support operational reliability, and mentor the engineering team in best practices.

This role requires a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of TPM, strong planning and problem-solving skills, and experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as RCA, 5Y, and DMAIC.

  • Opportunity to lead transformational engineering projects
  • Company pension scheme (3%)
  • Health & wellbeing initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and embed TPM principles across the site to optimise machine performance and reliability.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance strategies, leveraging CMMS systems (e.g., Mainsaver, SPIDEX).
  • Analyse breakdowns, losses, and failures to drive corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives and coach the team on TPM tools and techniques.
  • Support the roll-out of Smart Factory technologies to enhance OEE and equipment monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, facilitate Criticality Matrix reviews, and implement Inventory Management Plans.
  • Drive FMECA and RCA activities to reduce equipment failures.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture and lead by example in people development and team motivation.
  • Use CMMS data to inform forward planning and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in TPM implementation and maintenance strategy delivery.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems and using data to inform engineering decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors and suppliers, and influence key stakeholders.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with hands-on experience in CI tools (5Y, RCA, DMAIC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and maintenance management platforms.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, or:

ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or
