This will include day-to-day upkeep, managing a schedule of significant shop repairs and refits, as well as organizing dilapidations and being part of a team carrying out maintenance work on the Oxford hospice site.

To be successful, you must be innovative with solutions, able to work autonomously, and be motivated to provide an efficient service that will benefit our children, guests, families, volunteers, customers, and staff.

Skills we are looking for:
  1. Proven ability to engage others and communicate using various methods along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  2. Proven experience in maintenance, and skilled in using power and hand tools.
  3. Experience in any of the following: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Engines/Generators, Mechanical, Painting & Decorating.
  4. Awareness (although training will be provided) of: Electricity at work regulations, provision & use of work equipment regulations, LPG regulations, Legionella & standing water, working at height regulations, and working in confined spaces.

Professional, flexible, and committed to going above and beyond the remit of the role to achieve and exceed quality. Maintain awareness of health, welfare, and safety issues affecting colleagues, patients, visitors, customers, and themselves, reporting any accidents or faults in line with organizational policy.

This role is flexible but will require frequent travel to our shops, and therefore the postholder must be able to drive in order to carry out the duties of the role. Please note, we are interviewing as applications come in; therefore, we advise you to apply early if interested. The advert may close early if sufficient applications are received.

This is a permanent full-time role for 37.5 hours per week. In return, we can offer you a salary of £28,064 - £34,800 per annum dependent on experience.
