A leading port operator in Bristol is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to conduct maintenance on material handling equipment. This role includes a competitive salary of £36,000-£40,000 per annum, additional on-call payments, and opportunities for professional development. The ideal candidate will have a recognised engineering qualification and experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, along with the ability to work at height.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of MHE, preferably in a port or industrial setting.
  • Valid UK driving licence, clear of points.
  • Willingness and ability to work at height and participate in shift/on-call work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance and inspections of MHE (Forklifts / Straddle Carriers etc) to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate with workshop supervisors to manage repairs and parts procurement.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency support when needed.

Port Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Maintenance Engineer - Bristol

£36,000-£40,000 per annum + £220 on-call weekly payment + overtime pay. Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00, plus 1 week in 4/5 on-call rota.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct maintenance and inspections of MHE (Forklifts / Straddle Carriers etc) to ensure safety and compliance
  • Collaborate with workshop supervisors to manage repairs and parts procurement
  • Maintain accurate service and compliance records
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency support when needed
  • Train towards providing same duties for Port side Cranes
What we need from you
  • Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of MHE, preferably in a port or industrial setting
  • Knowledge of LOLER and other health & safety regulations
  • Valid UK driving licence, clear of points
  • Willingness and ability to work at height and participate in shift/on-call work
