Job summary

ARx Recruitment Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the West Midlands site. You will conduct planned maintenance on high-volume picking machinery and related equipment, diagnose electrical/mechanical/pneumatic faults, and respond swiftly to breakdowns to keep production lines running.

You will also log maintenance records, assist supervision, and work with contractors, ensuring safety standards and regulatory compliance across UK locations.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining high-volume picking machinery and ancillary equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components.
• Respond immediately to production equipment breakdowns.
• Update records of maintenance, defects and on-site spares.
• Assist supervision of site-based mechanical and electrical operations.
• Identify recurring issues through data analysis and drive improvements.
• Prepare paperwork per company procedures and work instructions.
• Log spare parts usage and requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors including permits to work and risk assessments.
• Willingness to train at other UK locations and provide technical training.
• Adhere to health and safety policies.
• Educational qualifications: GCSE C or above; NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical fields.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-volume picking machinery via Planned Maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic components.
• Respond to production equipment breakdowns and restore operations quickly.
• Update records of maintenance, defects and on-site spares.
• Assist in supervision of site-based mechanical/electrical operations.
• Identify recurring issues through data analysis and drive improvements.
• Generate paperwork in line with procedures and work instructions.
• Monitor spare parts usage and inventory requirements.
• Engage with contractors, obtain permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Undertake training at other UK locations and provide technical training where required.
• Adhere to strict health and safety policies.
