Job summary

Virgin Active in Northampton is seeking a proactive facilities maintenance role responsible for operating and maintaining a preventative maintenance programme across the site. You will ensure engineering compliance, monitor fixtures, and keep records while upholding health & safety policies and a high standard of tidiness.

You will work with the club team to assist members, handle queries, and take ownership during duty shifts, maintaining plant rooms, roofs and exits.

Qualifications

• Must have a technical Level 2 City & Guilds qualification or higher.
• Commitment to Health & Safety policies.
• Experience in facilities or club maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a preventative maintenance programme for the site under supervision of the line manager.
• Ensure facility adheres to all engineering compliance standards and keeps members and staff safe.
• Monitor fixtures and fittings to high standards of order and tidiness at all times.
• Follow daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth site operation and keep accurate records.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report issues promptly.
• Maintain basement, plant rooms, roof and fire exits to company standards and keep plant/equipment maintained.
• Be proactive, use initiative and take ownership of situations such as member complaints.
• Work as part of the club team, presenting a professional and courteous manner to members.
• Fulfill duty shifts with responsibility and accountability during the shift, managing staff and facility issues.

Job description

In this role, you will play a part in bring responsible for operating and maintaining a viable and effective preventative maintenance programme for the whole site, including the building shell and surrounding grounds under supervision of their line manager.,

• Ensuring that the facility adheres to all engineering compliance standards not putting members or employees at any risk.
• Monitoring the basic fixtures and fittings of the building are maintained to the highest standards of order and tidiness at all times.
• Adhering to daily & weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site, keeping up to date & accurate records.
• Following all Health & Safety policies and reporting any issues or concerns immediately.
• Maintaining the basement, plant rooms, roof and fire exits to company standards and ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained.
• Being proactive, use your initiative and take ownership of situations such as member complaints,
• Working as part of the wider club team, demonstrating a professional & courteous manner to members, assisting with queries they may have.
• Fulfilling Duty Shifts when required, therefore having responsibility and accountability during the shift, controlling staffing and facility issues throughout the club.
• A technical Level 2 qualification of City & Guilds equivalent or higher.
