Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Nights
Location: Sheffield

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy industrial plant in Sheffield. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth running of critical machinery and minimising downtime.

The Role
  • Shift: Nights, Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rate: £22.00 per hour (includes night premium)
  • Holiday Pay: Paid in addition @ 12.07% premium
  • Bank Holidays: Majority worked and paid on top of basic
  • Pension: Company contribution of 3% (opt-in)
Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical plant equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing breakdowns quickly and effectively
  • Implementing safe, temporary fixes to keep production moving where necessary
  • Supporting upgrades, shutdowns, and improvement projects
  • Following safe systems of work, including isolations, permits, and lock-out/tag-out
  • Working closely with operational teams to reduce downtime and improve plant reliability
What We're Looking For
  • Industrial maintenance background (waste, aggregates, utilities, or similar preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • A proactive and hands-on approach - someone who gets stuck in and solves problems
  • Flexible and dependable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good knowledge of health & safety procedures in a plant environment
