Job summary

gap technical is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for an ongoing contract near Harrogate. You will respond to breakdowns, carry out preventative maintenance and drive continuous improvements within a busy FMCG manufacturing environment.

The role suits a hands-on engineer with strong communication and teamwork skills, able to train operators and support major repairs. Attractive hourly rate and Inside IR35 conditions apply.

Qualifications

• Ideally time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience in Food, FMCG or Packaging env. advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and corrective work.
• Identify and resolve recurring faults in machines/processes.
• Collaborate with operations and assist in major repairs.
• Train operators in basic maintenance tasks.
• Maintain machinery to high safety and performance standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
