Job summary

International Students House (ISH) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities team based at Great Portland Street. You will maintain mechanical plant, plumbing and building services across ISH’s London properties, covering PPM, reactive repairs, fault finding and refurbishment projects.

You will liaise with contractors, support colleagues, and deputise for the Facilities Manager when required, including participation in the 1-in-3 out-of-hours on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Building Services or equivalent (City & Guilds, NVQ or similar).
• Experience maintaining commercial boiler plant and mechanical services.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Experience of water hygiene and Legionella control.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM, reactive repairs and refurbishment works.
• Maintain and repair boiler plant, heating, plumbing and related mechanical services.
• Monitor and fault-find on BMS.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, sanitaryware and drainage faults.
• Inspect buildings, plant rooms and equipment and identify defects.
• Provide technical support to maintenance colleagues and deputise for the Facilities Manager.
