Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Pitman shift Rotation
As a Shift Engineer, you'll be instrumental in maintaining peak performance at a busy retail production facility. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you'll work Pittman rotating 12-hour shifts, handling machine breakdowns, maintenance, and improvement projects. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond efficiently to machine breakdowns, implementing effective solutions to keep production flowing.
  2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), corrective actions, and machine enhancements.
  3. Boost efficiency using continuous improvement techniques and best practices.
  4. Maintain detailed shift reports and manage work orders via the CMMS system.
  5. Support weekend maintenance and contribute to engineering KPIs.
  6. Ensure process equipment operates optimally, reducing downtime, waste, and utility usage.
  7. Collaborate with the Lead Engineer on innovative site improvements.

Who We're Looking For:
We're seeking a proactive, results-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and shares our client's commitment to quality. You'll bring:
  1. Proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
  2. Relevant engineering qualifications (HND, HNC, Degree, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
  3. Strong electrical and mechanical expertise; knowledge of pumps, pneumatic valves, and VSDs is a bonus.
  4. Multi-skilled automation experience and excellent fault-finding skills.
  5. A logical, organized approach to problem-solving and a collaborative attitude.
  6. Confidence in autonomous decision-making and clear communication.
  7. Flexibility to provide support as needed, including night shift utility coverage.
