Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Northamptonshire to join a hands-on engineering team on a shift-based pattern. You will respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform reactive maintenance to get production lines back up and running quickly and safely.

The role requires mechanical hands-on experience and engineering qualifications, with a supportive environment, good pension, and a bonus scheme. A permanent position on a rotating 8-hour shift is offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns across the site.
• Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of failures.

• Fault find on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and other equipment.
• Carry out basic adjustments and modifications to machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and engineering work.
• Follow site health and safety procedures and engineering standards.

Maintenance Engineer

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £54000-£57000+ Bonus + Good Pension
Shift: 8 hour shift rotation
Employment: Permanent

The Role

We are working with an award-winning manufacturer that is looking for a Mechanical trained person to join its engineering team on a shift-based pattern.

This is a hands-on, reactive maintenance role, where the main responsibility will be responding to breakdowns and getting production machinery back up and running as quickly and safely as possible.

The role would suit a Mechanic, who enjoys fault finding, diagnosing problems and carrying out repairs in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns across the manufacturing site.
• Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of machinery failures.
• Carry out reactive maintenance and repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Repair and replace mechanical components as required.
• Fault find on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and other production equipment.
• Carry out basic adjustments and modifications to machinery where required.
• Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and engineering work.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures and engineering standards.

Skills & Experience

• Previous Mechanical hands on experience and qualifications
• Good mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively.
• Able to work effectively under pressure.
• Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
