Overview

Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical)

Location: Bath
Hourly rate: £19.45 p/h
Type: Temporary (8-12 months)
Sector: Engineering / Manufacturing

We're working on behalf of a long-established and reputable manufacturing business based in Bath, who are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to join their on-site engineering team on a temporary basis for 8-12 months.

Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance to take on a varied role involving fault finding, machinery repair, installations, and site maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
  • Assisting with machine installation, upgrades, and fabrication work
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on completed jobs
  • Working with engineers and team leads to resolve production issues
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards
Working Hours

Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:00 or 07:30 - 16:30; Monday - Thursday and Fridays 07:00-12:00 or 07:30 - 12:30

Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
  • Time-served or apprentice-trained in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics (desirable)
  • Confident working from technical drawings and following structured procedures
  • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • IT literate with basic understanding of Outlook, Word, and Excel
