Job summary

Elis is looking for an Engineer to join its Kendal site, carrying out remedial works on industrial laundry equipment and driving improvements in reliability and efficiency. You will collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer to implement safety-focused, cost-effective solutions and ensure smooth handovers of active projects to production teams.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/process environment.
• Engineering Level 3 and 4 NVQ qualifications; HND or C&G equivalent preferred; apprentice trained.
• Skilled in electrical and mechanical trades with pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical circuits and interpreting drawings.
• Self-motivated with ability to make decisions and respond quickly to business needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Willing to travel to offsite training facilities and other group factories.

Responsibilities

• Undertake remedial engineering works to industrial laundry equipment on site as instructed by Engineering Manager.
• Repair equipment safely and promptly to keep production updated on progress.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure company disciplines, rules and standards are maintained.
• Improve equipment performance, reliability and running costs for parts and consumables.
• Report incidents per Health and Safety policies and maintain safe systems of work.
• Maintain assets to achieve maximum efficiency and coordinate with contractors on site.
