Maintenance Engineer

Salary: 40,000
Location: Caerphilly
Permanent: Monday - Friday, three shift pattern

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of our client as a permanent position due to expansion. An excellent company to work for with lots of opportunity for progression.

Responsibilites:

  • Maintain efficient production
    • Ensure assets are properly maintained and technical capabilities are upheld.
    • Comply with all regulatory and company standards.
  • Equipment setup and operation
    • Set up, operate, adjust, and perform minor preventive maintenance on production equipment.
    • Keep equipment and the work floor clean, safe, and well-maintained.
    • Conduct regular inspections, cleaning, servicing, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance logs for all machines or processes overseen.
  • Quality assurance
    • Ensure products are produced exactly as intended and free of defects.
    • Monitor and check product quality, identifying deviations from standards and taking corrective action.
    • Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance with internal and external quality systems and regulations.
  • Testing and troubleshooting
    • Run tests on assemblies and equipment to verify safety, productivity, and readiness for production.
    • Identify problems during testing, propose solutions, and troubleshoot using technical knowledge.
    • Escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
  • Process monitoring
    • Monitor and control processes using visual checks, process data, and online testing.
    • Set up and operate various machines, tools, and highly automated manufacturing cells.
    • Work on or oversee assembly stations.
  • Lean manufacturing and productivity
    • Apply lean principles to eliminate waste in the production process.
    • Ensure the production area is safe, organized, and stocked with required inventory.
    • Provide regular productivity and incident reports.
  • Skills and Attributes
    • A time served engineer with minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering discipline is essential.
    • Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively and within a cost effect manner.
    • Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
