Job Opportunity: Maintenance Engineer - Forestry Tree Nursery

About Us:
We're an industry-leading forestry tree nursery, supplying high-quality trees for forestry, hedging and restoration projects across the UK. With a large fleet of machines, vehicles, and equipment in constant use, we're looking for a hands-on, practical engineer to keep our operations running smoothly.

The Role:

We're seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Engineer to join our team. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our fleet of machinery including forklifts, irrigation infrastructure and nursery automation processes. This is a hands-on position with plenty of scope to influence operational efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:


Manage and control the nursery workshop and associated equipment Planned and reactive maintenance on nursery plant and equipment Maintain irrigation and fertigation systems Assist with nursery automation and mechanisation processes Assist to improve our production methods Assist with feasibility studies for new technologies Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards Support sustainability initiatives, including water and energy conservation
What We're Looking For:


Experience in agricultural/mechanical engineering, plant maintenance, or a similar role Skilled in welding and basic fabrication Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems Ability to work independently and solve problems on the go A positive, proactive attitude and good communication skills Passion for sustainability and innovation Driving licence essential
