Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Food Protection)

Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (£42,000+ enhancements/on-call)

Start Date: Immediate start / notice periods considered

Are you a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity in production? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with cutting-edge machinery? Looking to thrive in a rural setting in Dorset? We are recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (Food Protection) to join our client on a permanent basis. Located in Beaminster, this role offers the chance to join a well-established company and friendly team. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring compliance with UK Food safety regulations and site policies.
  2. Providing engineering support to production through routine maintenance and reactive repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
  3. Supporting production to meet schedules.
  4. Providing engineering cover and call-out support as needed.
  5. Assisting in planning and supervising contractor work, including permit control.

Requirements:

  • CV demonstrating:
    • Engineering Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) & HNC/D.
    • Mechanical skills with hand and machine tools.
    • Electrical proficiency with single and three-phase supplies (17th/18th edition standard).
    • Experience in dairy or food industry (advantageous but not essential).
    • Experience with PLC-controlled plant.
    • Experience with steam raising plant and maintenance.
    • Pneumatic systems experience.
  • Must hold:
    • Passport or Birth Certificate with proof of National Insurance.
    • Required certificates or references.
