Job summary

Enbarr Recruitment and Training is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join the site engineering team in the Bodelwyydan area. The role focuses on hands-on fault finding, preventative maintenance, and driving equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position involves 12-hour shifts (05:45–18:00 and 17:45–06:00) on a 40-hour week with a two-day/two-night/4-off rotation, offering an hourly rate with shift allowance and opportunities to

Qualifications

• Qualified or time served in Electrical Engineering disciplines - desirable
• Strong electrical fault finding and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment - desirable
• NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level - desirable
• Legionella and HACCP awareness - desirable
• Experience in FMCG - desirable

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and predictive maintenance across a range of mechanical equipment and complete breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
• Carry out mechanical fault finding, repair and continuous improvement across production and site machinery
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of mechanical systems and equipment
• Assess the need for spares by ensuring the critical spares and spares list is up to date and stock is at required levels
• Escalate issues to the Engineering Manager in a timely manner
• Ensure a safe environment by conducting all servicing and maintenance with minimal risk to employees, products and equipment
• Use root cause analysis on breakdowns to identify actions and drive completion of actions to prevent re-occurrence
• Support energy reduction and sustainability initiatives across the site
• Participate in daily and weekly review sessions to drive site improvements

The Role

We are Recruiting for an experienced Shift Engineer with a strong Electrical bias to join our clients Engineering team, based in the Bodelwyydan area. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on fault finding, preventative maintenance, and driving equipment reliability within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Rate of pay:

• * From £21 per hour plus shift allowance - £2.00 per hour
• * 40 hours per week, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off shift pattern (12 hour shifts on rotation)
• * Shift times - 05:45 - 18:00 / 17:45 - 06:00

Job Description

To establish and maintain safe, compliant and effective engineering operations that continually develop the site's asset base by following the Engineering strategy for proactive work whilst responding to breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• * Qualified or time served in Electrical Engineering disciplines - desirable
• * Mechanical knowledge or multi-skilled experience would be advantageous
• * Strong Electrical fault finding and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment - desirable
• * Experienced in the use of computer programmes to set up machinery
• * Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) = necessary
• * NEBOSH with a sound knowledge of behavioural safety at a site level - desirable
• * Legionella and HACCP awareness - desirable
• * Experience in FMCG - desirable
