Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Facilities) in Cambridge. The role focuses on maintaining HVAC units, fire alarms, smart systems and standby generators, with steam fitting, plumbing and vehicle maintenance as part of a varied daily workload.

Based at a large, 400-acre site, you will have on-the-job training and opportunities to progress into supervisory positions within a state-of-the-art facility. Overtime is paid at 1.5x with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining HVAC systems, fire alarms, smart systems and generators.
• Mechanical fit-out and plumbing work experience is desirable.
• Willingness to train and progress into supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC units, fire alarms, smart systems and standby generators on-site.
• Perform steam fitting and plumbing tasks as required.
• Contribute to vehicle maintenance and site facilities.
• Work across a 400-acre campus with historic and modern buildings.
• Follow on-the-job training to enhance mechanical engineering skills.
• Occasional overtime; call-out rota as part of shift pattern.

£36,000 – £40,000 + Overtime + Bonus (OTE £43k) + Progression + Training + 33 Days Holiday + 10.5% pension contribution + Call Out Rota

Are you a Facilities Maintenance Engineer from a mechanical background, looking for an opportunity to progress your career and advance into supervisory positions within a state-of-the-art facility?

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining HVAC units, fire alarms, smart systems and standby generators with full onsite training. You will also do steam fitting, plumbing and vehicle maintenance. This will be a varied role where you will enhance your skill set on several different areas to make you a more well-rounded Mechanical Engineer.

The Role:

• Maintaining HVAC units, fire alarms, smart systems and standby generators

• Full on the job training provided


• Working on a 400-acre site, within multiple historical and modern buildings


• Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm + Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm


• Overtime paid at 1.5x


• 1 in 8 weeks call out rota
