Duties/Responsibilities

Location: Mobile roles covering the East Anglia region of the UK

Salary: £41,000 per annum

Working hours: 08.00 – 17.00, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Engineer will perform duties aligned with their core and specialist skills, with opportunities to develop additional skills for flexible work across trades. Suitable training will be provided as needed to ensure competence in the following areas:

  1. Carry out Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance.
  2. Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service covering electrical and mechanical disciplines.
  3. Carry out modifications and installations as required.
  4. Liaise with contractors or external suppliers, clearly communicating technical issues.
  5. Ensure work is completed to high standards, adhering to company and client policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for optimal performance.
  7. Take ownership of tools and equipment, reporting defects immediately.
  8. Monitor and control Building Critical Systems operation.
  9. Perform PPM & Reactive maintenance on client assets, including gas appliances, steam systems, HVAC, lighting, and emergency lighting.
  10. Ensure swift resolution of plant faults and defects.
  11. Maintain asset records via the client’s PPM / Helpdesk system using a Tablet device.
  12. Keep accurate records related to statutory tasks, health & safety, building compliance, and quality assurance.
  13. Escort and supervise specialist subcontractors.
  14. Operate within a Permit to Work System following EMCOR UK procedures.
  15. Assist with quality assurance checks, record keeping, and housekeeping.
  16. Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
  17. Oversee building environmental conditions using the BMS System to maintain internal conditions.
  18. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
  19. Develop and maintain good client relationships.
  20. Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
  21. Present a professional image of EMCOR UK to clients and visitors.
  22. Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
Person Specification

  • General knowledge of heating, ventilation, and building support systems and their controls.
  • Awareness of BMS and electrical systems.
  • Experience maintaining high-specification plant in laboratory and office environments.
