Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased)
Central Cambridgeshire (PE15)

Commutable from: Huntingdon, St. Ives, Peterborough, Wisbech, March, Ely, Sutton, Chatteris

Working Hours: Monday - Friday Double Days (6-2 / 2-10)

Salary: £43,000

Company Overview: Our client is a leading food manufacturing & packaging company, part of a larger national organisation. Due to growth and further expansion within the factory, they are looking for an electrical biased maintenance engineer to join their team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out PPM's, breakdowns, fault finding, testing & inspection of all production & packaging machinery
  2. Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  3. PLC - electrical fault finding
  4. Dealing with high-speed production lines & packaging machinery
  5. Working on sensors, motors, control panels, contactors, relays, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes
  6. Site services / facilities - water treatment plant, boilers, steam systems, BMS
  7. Continuous improvement project work
  8. Monitoring and ordering of spares & parts

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  1. Must be an electrically biased maintenance engineer
  2. Qualifications needed: minimum City & Guilds Electrical Installation
  3. Time-served Apprenticeship trained
  4. Ideally have 17th or 18th Edition Electrical
  5. Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
  6. Comfortable working on own when needed
  7. Must have worked in food manufacturing or packaging
  8. PLC - electrical fault finding skills
  9. Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding would be beneficial
  10. Happy working on production machinery, site services & facilities
