Job description

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for the electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery used in high-specification industrial processes. The role is hands-on and varied, requiring a solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems. Your work will directly support production up time, safety, and overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown repairs, and fault diagnosis on a range of plant and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems.

  • Support installation, commissioning, and modifications of new and existing equipment.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce downtime and improve system reliability.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and contribute to site-wide EHS improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in production, quality, and engineering.

  • Participate in site improvement and upgrade projects.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

  • 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certified.

  • Strong electrical bias with competent mechanical aptitude.

  • Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing or foundry-type environment.

  • Hands-on knowledge of AC/DC drives, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.

  • Ability to fault-find and resolve issues efficiently under pressure.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
