Job Description:

Role Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cambridge

We are currently looking for an electrical bias Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in building services maintenance, working on corporate, client-facing buildings, and will work on-site Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm.

Role Purpose:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on building systems, respond to emergencies, and undertake minor installation works following client protocols and compliance standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on building systems to meet service agreements.
  • Respond to alarms and effect emergency repairs.
  • Manage controls within Permit to Work systems.
  • Maintain critical and domestic water systems per L8 standards.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts and keep detailed maintenance records.
  • Follow safety procedures with Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Develop good relationships with clients and staff.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and uphold company and client policies.
  • Support annual building shutdowns and other duties as required.

The engineer will troubleshoot systems including Building Management Systems, air handling, fire detection, VESDA, variable speed drives, motors, UPS systems, and switch panels.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification.
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations (training available if only 17th Edition).
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection, BS 7671 certification.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, report writing ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high standards.
