A leading company in polythene manufacturing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical background for a day shift role. Candidates with experience in maintenance, particularly with extrusion and conversion machinery, are preferred. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a part of a team. Job description

Maintenance Engineer: Electrical background, London

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical background for a polythene bag manufacturer specializing in polythene film and bags.

The ideal candidate will have attended an Industrial Electrical Course and be certified to the 17th edition electrical course.

This role is for a day shift (7am to 7pm), Monday to Friday, and candidates should reside in the West London area.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repair of blown film extrusion and conversion machinery.
  • Potential to be trained to operate extrusion/conversion machines as needed.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to remove, install, and set up new inverters.
  • Read and understand electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Fault find electrical circuits without diagrams.
  • Understand AC/DC motor control.
  • Understand tension control systems (load cells, dancers).
  • Self-motivated, flexible, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels.
Salary and Benefits:

Hourly rate: £7.50-£10.00 depending on experience.

Annual salary: approximately £24,000-£28,000.

After 6 months, eligible for company contributory pension scheme.

Qualifications:

Diploma/certificate in engineering or completion of an engineering apprenticeship, including qualification in the 17th edition electrical course. Hands-on experience with extrusion & conversion machinery maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory.
