Job summary

Aliaxis in Huntingdon is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to support electrical, controls, and automation systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will conduct planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and installations, while upholding safety and environmental standards and driving improvements. Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and industrial automation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven electrical, controls and automation experience in manufacturing.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent; HNC/HND desirable.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for electrical, controls and automation systems.

• Ensure safety and environmental compliance including LOTOTO.
• Drive continuous improvement and OEE enhancements.

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) / Huntingdon / Full-time & Permanent

The Opportunity/Role

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for electrical, controls, and automation systems, including PLCs, drives, sensors, instrumentation, and machine safety equipment.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company standards, including electrical isolation and LOTOTO procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation enhancement, and root cause analysis initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and OEE.
• Support maintenance shutdowns, equipment upgrades, capital projects, and cross-functional engineering activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift & Pay

12 hour Panama shift pattern (inclusive of 12 hours day, night and weekend shifts)

Salary: £51,275.08 per annum + £9,400 shift allowance

Requirements

• Proven electrical, controls, and automation experience within a manufacturing environment, with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (or equivalent apprenticeship); HNC/HND desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, HMIs, and industrial automation systems would be advantageous.
• Strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, reliability, and preventative maintenance.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in plastic extrusion/injection moulding and qualifications such as 18th Edition, IPAF, or FLT are desirable.
