Maintenance Engineer (Dual Skilled)


Location: Portadown
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Hours: Day Shift (Monday - Friday)


Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical skills and a background in food or FMCG manufacturing? Our client, a well-established food manufacturer based in Portadown, is seeking a Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join their day shift team.


This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving plant performance in a fast-paced production environment, with a focus on planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on a range of production equipment.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plant machinery.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to deliver maintenance schedules and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation and ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety standards.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
What We're Looking For:
  • Time-served or Level 3 qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills; multi-skilled engineers with mechanical experience are welcome.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment (food industry experience is highly desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
