A flexible materials manufacturer in Carmeltown is looking for a dedicated maintenance technician to support production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, time management skills, and the ability to carry out preventative maintenance. Qualifications include an ONC or equivalent, with multi-skilled background preferred. The role involves diagnosing equipment issues and engaging in continuous improvement projects.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • To provide support to production operations in all issues.
  • Carry out activities by prioritising productions needs as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Engage as a member of the multi-skilled Engineering team, working with the team to continuously improve the maintenance function.
  • Diagnosis and resolution of equipment breakdown issues.
  • Involvement in projects, plant improvement and equipment manufacture.
  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance activities.
  • To provide site support for the building and facility maintenance and security.
  • Ensuring: Safe working of all plant and equipment within Health & Safety requirements.
  • Reacting effectively to minimise machine downtime, while executing planned preventative maintenance activities to increase machine availability and performance.
  • An understanding of the manufacturing process which allows integration of the engineering team, with production personnel.

Person Specification
  • High level of self-motivation and time management skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload around production requirements

Qualifications/Experience
  • Time served apprentice
  • Minimum ONC, or equivalent qualification
  • Multi-skilled preferred, with formal electrical qualification with demonstratable mechanical experience.
Experience desirable
  • Instrumentation systems (Thermocouples, level control, loop control)
  • Inverter drive control
  • Fault finding & diagnostics skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
  • Competent in the use of a lathe, MIG welder and other workshop equipment
Additional skills desirable
  • 18th edition I.E.E regulations
  • FLT/MEWP Training
  • CMMS experience
  • 5S, Continuous Improvement
