Responsibilities
- To provide support to production operations in all issues.
- Carry out activities by prioritising productions needs as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Engage as a member of the multi-skilled Engineering team, working with the team to continuously improve the maintenance function.
- Diagnosis and resolution of equipment breakdown issues.
- Involvement in projects, plant improvement and equipment manufacture.
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance activities.
- To provide site support for the building and facility maintenance and security.
- Ensuring: Safe working of all plant and equipment within Health & Safety requirements.
- Reacting effectively to minimise machine downtime, while executing planned preventative maintenance activities to increase machine availability and performance.
- An understanding of the manufacturing process which allows integration of the engineering team, with production personnel.
- Documented activity report
- Effective handover
- Engineering stores stock levels are maintained
- 5S housekeeping within engineering workshop, work area and stores area
Person Specification
- High level of self-motivation and time management skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload around production requirements
- Flexibility with all aspects of work activities including overtime
- Strong work ethic
- Good communication skills
Qualifications/Experience
- Time served apprentice
- Minimum ONC, or equivalent qualification
- Multi-skilled preferred, with formal electrical qualification with demonstratable mechanical experience.
Experience desirable
- Instrumentation systems (Thermocouples, level control, loop control)
- Inverter drive control
- Fault finding & diagnostics skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
- Competent in the use of a lathe, MIG welder and other workshop equipment
Additional skills desirable
- 18th edition I.E.E regulations
- FLT/MEWP Training
- CMMS experience
- 5S, Continuous Improvement
