Job Description:

An exciting new role within our Property Function! We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Technician to join our team. You will prioritize maintaining and repairing brand-new equipment, applying your technical expertise to ensure outstanding performance and continuous improvement. A passion for customer service is essential, as you will understand the impact of your decisions and the efficiency of your maintenance work, operating within your training and experience to ensure a safe environment for all.

You will maintain and repair cutting-edge equipment in our Urban Fulfilment Centre (UFC), utilizing your experience and technical knowledge. You will ensure that equipment runs in its optimum state through regular inspections, completing maintenance tasks according to good engineering practice, and striving to improve the equipment where possible.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Completing maintenance to a high standard, logging and scheduling repairs as needed.
  2. Operating safely at all times, dynamically assessing risks for each job.
  3. Building effective relationships across departments and supporting colleagues.
  4. Supervising site performance to ensure efficiency, understanding metrics like availability and performance.
  5. Being proactive with time management to deliver value and foster continuous improvement.
  6. Documenting major breakdowns using root cause analysis.
  7. Supporting budget adherence through waste reduction and testing replaced equipment.
  8. Maintaining accurate records in the CMMS and producing high-quality shift reports.
  9. Tracking spare parts and hours to support budget management.

You will need:

  • Hands-on experience in an engineering/maintenance role with highly automated equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical cross-skilling.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Data analysis and presentation skills for decision making.
  • Influencing abilities and high standards of work.
