Job summary

Howmet Aerospace requires two Maintenance Engineer Apprentices at Exeter to learn both electrical and mechanical maintenance, with potential welding/fabrication training. The programme runs about 42 months and starts September 2025, with the chance to join the portfolio of evidenced learning before September.

You will learn to perform scheduled preventive maintenance, assist with installation and testing, and follow safety standards while developing problem-solving skills and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Interest in maintenance engineering as a subject and desire to learn.
• Willingness to develop practical/tool usage skills.
• Ability to be a proactive team player and learn from apprenticeship standards.
• Commitment to personal learning through hobbies, projects, or courses.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of plant services and equipment.
• Assist with installation, repair, adjustment and testing of equipment and components.
• Follow work processes and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Strive to achieve competencies set out in apprenticeship standards.
• Maintain an apprenticeship training record as required.
