Join the family at Heck Food!

At Heck, we do things differently. We’re passionate about making great-tasting, high-quality food, and we bring that same energy and commitment into everything we do – including how we maintain and develop our world-class production facility.

We’re now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, proactive individual who wants to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of food production equipment.

• Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime.

• Working closely with production teams to ensure all machinery operates at peak performance.

• Supporting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensuring all engineering work is carried out safely and to the highest standard, following health and safety and food safety guidelines.

• Assisting in installations, commissioning of new equipment, and factory development projects.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.

• A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work shifts and support the business as needed.

• Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have strong practical experience.

What we offer:

• The chance to be part of a dynamic, family-run business with big ambitions.

• Ongoing training and development opportunities.

• Competitive salary and benefits package.

• A supportive team culture where your ideas and contributions are genuinely valued.
