Job summary

An established manufacturing business near Wrexham is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer at a rate of £35.00 per hour. This role involves minimizing downtime through maintenance, carrying out allocated tasks, and ensuring compliance with health & safety standards. The ideal candidate will have served a recognized apprenticeship and possess relevant qualifications. This opportunity offers a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with days and nights.

Qualifications

  • Recognized Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship equivalent to City & Guilds standard.
  • I.E.E 17th Edition qualification if electrically biased.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical fault finding and lock off isolation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Minimise downtime through regular maintenance.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the shift supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate logs of progress against tasks.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns or plant failures.

Maintenance Engineer – £35.00 Per Hour – Wrexham
4 on 4 off (2 days/2 nights)

gap technical are proud to be representing an established manufacturing business in their search for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Wrexham.

Performance Objectives
  • Minimise downtime through close attention to regular maintenance of equipment.
  • Carry out the allocated tasks assigned by the shift supervisor for both breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain an accurate log of progress against all assigned tasks.
  • Work closely with engineering and factory colleagues.
  • Ensure a prompt response to breakdown or plant failure.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and operating procedures and Company/customer technical standards.
Person Specification
  • You will need to have served a recognised Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship to a minimum equivalent standard of City & Guilds to an Industrial standard with knowledge of modern control techniques.
  • If electrically biased the requirement is the I.E.E 17th Edition qualification.
  • If mechanically biased the requirement is the safe working knowledge for basic electrical fault finding and lock off / isolation procedures on and around industrial equipment.
  • Experience preferably in food or packaging manufacturing
